Much to the surprise of Miss USA fans, the NBC network dropped the Miss USA Pageant just days before its live air date earlier this month. The announcement came on the heels of unsavory remarks made by franchise owner Donald Trump. Trump was able to find a substitute home for the live show on the Reelz Channel, however the broadcast received some of the lowest ratings in Miss USA history.
Now, just days after the Miss USA fiasco, NBC is announcing a new endeavor in collaboration with supermodel Cindy Crawford. Crawford is set to produce a new television drama about modeling tentatively entitled Icon.
The model TV show will revolve around reported modeling wars of the 1980s between the Ford and Elite modeling agencies and their owners, Eileen Ford and John Casablancas. It has been confirmed that there are no current plans for Cindy Crawford to appear on camera in the production.
Miss USA 2014 Nia Sanchez has been named WTF Goodwill Ambassador as a way to promote female Taekwondo participation worldwide. Sanchez has been involved in the martial arts since the age of 8.
American Horror Story Season 5: Hotel producers announced this week that Naomi Campbell will have a lead role in the most talked about AHS season in years. She will portray a fashion editor and will be involved somehow with Lady Gaga's character.
Johnny Depp's daughter Lily Rose has scored her first big modeling contract with (drumroll please)... Chanel! This comes as no surprise to followers of the Depp clan, since her mother has also been a Chanel model for several years.
